New IEEE Standard - Superseded. Specific test procedures are established for verifying the compliance of unlicensed personal communications services (UPCS) devices with applicable regulatory requirements regarding radio-frequency (RF) emission levels and spectrum access procedures.
This standard sets forth uniform methods of measurement of the electromagnetic and operational compatibility of unlicensed personal communications services (UPCS) devices. This standard does not cover licensed personal communications services (PCS) devices. The recommended methods are applicable to the radio transmitter and monitoring devices contained in the UPCS device. These methods apply to the measurement of individual UPCS devices. Additional methods may be added to this standard to fulfilll future requirements. In addition to the measurements specified herein, UPCS devices may also be required to be tested in accordance with other standards. Examples are listed in Annex A.
