New IEEE Standard - Superseded.
This document provides guidance for pre-operational testing of Class IE Power systems for nuclear-power generating stations. The extent of the system shall be that covered by IEEE Std 308-1974, Standard Criteria for Class IE Power Systems for Nuclear Power Generating Stations. A system is illustrated by Fig 1. The power systems include both ac and dc supplies but do not include the equipment which utilizes the ac and dc power.
The purpose of this document is to provide direction for establishing an acceptable pre-operational testing program for Class IE power systems in nuclear-power generating stations. The pre-operational tests are performed after the appropriate construction tests have been completed. The purpose of the pre-operational tests is to verify that the functioning of Class IE power systems performs their required function as described in the Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR) of the station.
