Revision Standard - Superseded. Guidelines for assessing, monitoring, and mitigating aging degradation effects on Class 1E equipment used in nuclear power generating stations are provided. This guide also includes informative annexes on aging mechanisms, environmental monitoring, condition monitoring, aging program essential attributes, and example assessments for five types of equipment (including electric cable)
This document provides the guidelines for assessing, monitoring, and mitigating aging degradation effects on class 1E equipment used in nuclear power generating stations.
The purpose of this document is to supplement existing IEEE nuclear standards in assessing aging degradation effects. The methods described herein can be used to identify the performance capability of Class 1E equipment beyond its qualified life. The purpose of this revision is to incorporate feedback received from the industry to make the guide more useful and applicable to electrical equipment in nuclear generating stations and, as part of this effort, bring the approaches discussed in the guide into closer conformance with the present industry philosophy.
