Solid biofuels - Determination of mechanical durability of pellets and briquettes - Part 2: Briquettes (Adopted ISO 17831-2:2015, first edition , 2015-12-15)
CSA Preface This is the first edition of CAN/CSA-ISO 17831-2, Solid biofuels - Determination of mechanical durability of pellets and briquettes - Part 2: Briquettes , which is an adoption without modification of the identically titled ISO (International Organization for Standardization) Standard 17831-2 (first edition, 2015-12-15). For brevity, this Standard will be referred to as "CAN/CSA-ISO 17831-2" throughout. This Standard is one of two Standards developed by ISO/TC 238 on Solid Biofuels that are being adopted by CSA Group under the series Determination of mechanical durability of pellets and briquettes, which consists of the following: a) ISO 17831-1, Part 1: Pellets; and b) ISO 17831-2, Part 2: Briquettes. This Standard defines a method for determining the mechanical durability of briquettes. The mechanical durability is a measure of the resistance of compressed fuels towards shocks and/or abrasion as a consequence of handling and transportation. This Standard has been developed in compliance with Standards Council of Canada requirements for National Standards of Canada. It has been published as a National Standard of Canada by CSA Group. Scope This part of ISO 17831 defines a method for determining the mechanical durability of briquettes. The mechanical durability is a measure of the resistance of compressed fuels towards shocks and/or abrasion as a consequence of handling and transportation.
