Solid biofuels - Determination of total content of sulfur and chlorine (Adopted ISO 16994:2016, second edition, 2016-07-01)
CSA Preface This is the second edition of CSA ISO 16994, Solid biofuels - Determination of total content of sulfur and chlorine, which is an adoption without modification of the identically titled ISO (International Organization for Standardization) Standard 16994 (second edition, 2016-07-01). It supersedes the previous edition, published in 2015 as CAN/CSA-ISO 16994 (adopted ISO 16994:2015). This Standard describes methods for the determination of the total sulfur and total chlorine content in solid biofuels. This Standard specifies two methods for decomposition of the fuel and different analytical techniques for the quantification of the elements in the decomposition solutions. The use of automatic equipment is also included in this Standard, provided that a validation is carried out as specified and that the performance characteristics are similar to those of the method described in this Standard. This Standard was reviewed for Canadian adoption by the CSA Technical Committee on Solid Biofuels, under the jurisdiction of the CSA Strategic Steering Committee on Fuels and Appliances, and has been formally approved by the Technical Committee. Scope This International Standard describes methods for the determination of the total sulfur and total chlorine content in solid biofuels.
