Environmental management - Guidelines for environmental due diligence assessment (Adopted ISO 14015:2022, second edition, 2022-06)
CSA Preface This is the second edition of CSA ISO 14015, Environmental management - Guidelines for environmental due diligence assessment , which is an adoption without modification of the identically titled ISO (International Organization for Standardization) Standard 14015 (second edition, 2022-06). It supersedes the previous edition, published in 2002 as CAN/CSA-ISO 14015 (adopted ISO 14015:2001), Environmental management - Environmental assessment of sites and organizations. For brevity, this Standard will be referred to as "CSA ISO 14015" throughout. Standards development within the Canadian Environmental Management sector is harmonized with International Standards development. This Standard was reviewed for Canadian adoption by the harmonized SCC Mirror Committee and CSA Subcommittee to ISO TC 207/SC 2, Environmental auditing and related environmental investigations. This Standard has been formally approved by the CSA Technical Committee to ISO/TC 207, Environmental management, under the jurisdiction of the CSA Strategic Steering Committee on Organizational Management and Sustainability. This Standard has been developed in compliance with Standards Council of Canada requirements for National Standards of Canada. It has been published as a National Standard of Canada by CSA Group. Scope This document gives guidance on how to conduct an environmental due diligence (EDD) assessment through a systematic process of identifying environmental aspects, issues and conditions as well as determining, if appropriate, their business consequences. This document does not provide guidance on how to conduct other types of environmental assessment, such as: a) environmental audits; b) environmental impact assessments; c) environmental performance, efficiency, or reliability assessment; d) intrusive environmental investigations and remediation.
