This is the second edition of CSA C49.5, Compact round aluminum stranded conductors (compact round ASC) . It supersedes the first edition, published in 1978 under the title Compact Round Concentric-Lay Aluminum Stranded Conductors (Compact ASC). This Standard was prepared by the Technical Committee on Overhead Electrical Conductors, under the jurisdiction of the Strategic Steering Committee on Power Engineering and Electromagnetic Compatibility, and has been formally approved by the Technical Committee. This Standard has been developed in compliance with Standards Council of Canada requirements for National Standards of Canada. It has been published as a National Standard of Canada by CSA Group.
