Electrode receptacles, fittings and connectors for gas tubes
Preface This is the third edition of a series of Standards issued by the Canadian Standards Association under Part II of the Canadian Electrical Code. This edition supersedes previous editions published in 1936 (reaffirmed in 1949) and 1959 (reaffirmed in 1964 and 1969). This edition is written in SI (metric) units. This Standard applies to (a) electrode receptacles and fittings for mounting gas tubes intended for indoor and outdoor applications operating at voltages of 15 000 V and less but not exceeding 7 500 V to ground for use in accordance with the rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I; (b) connectors that are intended to enclose the ends of gas tube electrodes and to provide a connection to the secondary voltage supply. This edition includes the following changes to the previous edition: (a) incorporation of published Amendments 1, 2, and 3; (b) addition of date marking on each receptacle. For general information on the Standards of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part II, see the Preface of CSA Standard C22.2 No. 0, General Requirements-Canadian Electrical Code, Part II. This Standard was prepared by a Subcommittee of the Technical Committee on Wiring Products under the jurisdiction of the Standards Steering Committee on CE Code, Part II, and was formally approved by these Committees. This Standard has been developed in compliance with Standards Council of Canada requirements for National Standards of Canada. It has been published as a National Standard of Canada by CSA Group. Scope This Standard applies to (a) electrode receptacles and fittings for mounting gas tubes intended for indoor and outdoor applications operating at voltages of 15 000 V and less but not exceeding 7 500 V to ground for use in accordance with the rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I; (b) connectors that are intended to enclose the ends of gas tube electrodes and to provide a connection to the secondary voltage supply.
