1.1 This test method covers the determination of the bond strength between chemical-resistant mortars and chemical-resistant brick.

1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety problems, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.

This test offers a method of determining the bond strength between chemical-resistant mortars and chemical-resistant brick. The results obtained by this test method should be used as a guide in, but not as the sole basis for, selection of a chemical-resistant material for a particular application. If failure is within the brick, then the result reported shall be stated as a minimum bond strength and it shall be noted that the brick broke.
